Alex has managed the successful transformation of listed and private businesses. Throughout his career Alex has led large teams in challenging and competitive industries.
Alex commenced his career as a lawyer in a German law firm before joining the in-house legal team of a large German construction group. After transferring to Australia 20 years ago, Alex left the legal department to embark on a commercial and general management career path that ultimately led him to Commercial & Finance Director roles.
Alex fulfilled senior executive roles for large construction companies such as Thiess, Laing O’Rourke and McConnell Dowell. As Strategic Consultant Alex advised large international corporate clients as well as various Government clients. Alex has also served as a Director on the board of listed and private companies.
Through his career, Alex has negotiated very complex and large transactions and has developed and executed successful business strategies.
Alex has built a reputation in building and leading teams and individuals to great success through his collaborative and empowering leadership style while driving performance and accountability.
Alex has a Master of Law from the University of Tübingen, Germany, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Chief Strategy & Finance Officer
Marc’s strong interest and passion for the Chinese language and culture was the force behind leaving his native Switzerland to spend two years studying Mandarin in Taiwan.
After returning to Switzerland to study Economics and Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen, Marc returned to Asia in 2010 after accepting a position in an investment firm based in Hong Kong and China.
In 2014 Marc relocated to Melbourne to join Vesture, now Smarter Communities to learn more about the dynamics, people and opportunities within the Community/Strata Management industry. Vesture had recently secured new business acquisitions and Marc played an integral role in amalgamating and integrating these businesses into the Vesture family.
Since joining Smarter Communities Marc has performed various roles within the Company from Reception to Project Management and Community Management. During this period he developed a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities in this dynamic industry.
Determined to drive change and implement a better customer experience for people living in communities, Marc assumed the role of Chief Strategy & Finance Officer in 2017.

Marc has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. HSG) from the University of St Gallen, Switzerland.
Head of People & Culture
Kerrie joined Smarter Communities in February 2016 to partner and support senior business executives whilst delivering appropriate and innovative human resources solutions to the Smarter Communities group of companies.
With over 25 years’ experience as a senior HR professional within Not for Profit and Global and Australian financial services industries, Kerrie has extensive knowledge and a proven track record of implementing effective HR strategies, operational management, strategic workforce planning, talent and succession management, merger and acquisitions, offshoring and cultural change programs.
She has successfully demonstrated how human resources can add value in a commercial environment. Kerrie is results driven and has earned her solid reputation for successfully obtaining full stakeholder support and building strong relationships in all roles across her career.
Kerrie has a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and an Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management from TAFE. Kerrie is a Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
General Manager – Southern Communities
Richard joined Victoria Body Corporate Services (VBCS) in 2001 as a Portfolio Manager after a range of diverse roles within the Banking industry spanning 22 years. As Project Manager with the Bank of New South Wales Richard was responsible for centralising operations within the retail branch network across the east coast of Australia.
Richard quickly progressed at VBCS and has held numerous senior management roles including General Manager of Strata Operations, to General Manager – Southern Communities, with overall responsibility for the operations of Adelaide Strata & Communities Management, Strata Title Management (Sydney Metro) and VBCS.
His vision is to ensure service delivery standards are not only met, but exceeded, and to build a strong stable team of high achievers that drive performance to new heights.
Richard is an Accredited Practising Strata Manager (APSM) of Strata Community Australia Victoria (SCA VIC).
Head of Sales & Marketing
Timothy joined Smarter Communities in June 2017 to steer Smarter Communities and its group of brands towards achieving its vision of Building Smarter Communities.
Previously Timothy was Head of Marketing & Investor Relations at ASX-listed Ashley Services Group, and has held several senior Marketing & Communications roles within the recruitment industry.
Having served as both Chairman and Strata Committee member at three large mixed-use/residential strata schemes in Sydney CBD, and being an owner of a portfolio of strata units, Timothy has an added level of first-hand experience in the world of Owners Corporations and strata living.
Timothy has a Master of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Property from the University of Auckland.
