Bernd Petring

Profile

Bernd is a senior finance professional with more than 20 years’ experience in international blue-chip organisations across a range of industries and geographies. He joined Smarter Communities in April 2019 to create and deliver its financial strategy and safeguard the Group’s financial health through the management of ongoing risks and potential investments. Bernd is responsible for the compliance of all accounting activities for the Group.

Previously Bernd was Head of Business Planning & Analysis for prominent construction engineering giant, Laing O’Rourke. He has a comprehensive background in strategy development and implementation, financial modelling, corporate due diligence and digital transformation.

An energetic and authentic leader, Bernd is a passionate driver of developing and delivering business insight, enjoys mentoring and working with high-performing teams and engaging with executive management and boards.

He has extensive hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting and risk management, excellent knowledge of data analysis with solid decision-making skills.

Bernd is a CPA and has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Munich University of Applied Science.
